FAQs

  • WHY DO YOU ONLY MAKE A TROUSER & SHIRT?
    • We do so because we are more than a little obsessive and set out to create the ultimate trouser and shirt … pieces we had been subliminally researching for 20 years!
    • Good things take time, that is no different at RoyWear. Our vision of Slow Craft is supported and shared by all of our suppliers.
    • Dynamic living defines our way of life, whether at work, home or away on a trip. Our clothing has been carefully designed to support you in every scenario. We obsessed and carefully considered each and every step involved, putting all of our energy, soul and love into each piece we make. We hope you will love them as much as we do!
  • WHY DOES ROYWEAR USE TWO DIFFERENT COLOURED LABELS?
    • We have our vermillion and blue coloured labels. The colour denotes a different type of fabric.
      • Our Blue label is for our Soft fabric
        • Soft: a gabardine finish, it is an ultra soft and silky smooth fabric. It hangs like the beautifully soft evening light fading beyond the horizon. Easing you through your day and into the long dark night … ensuring you're prepared for everything.
      • Our Vermillion label is for our Crisp fabric.
        • Crisp: a poplin finish, a dense and compact finish, like a good Oxford shirt, it is made to be worn all day. Perfect for early morning meetings, a busy workshop or presenting to an audience! Crisp, moves with the world around you, ensuring you’re prepared for everything.
  • WHERE ARE THE TROUSER & SHIRT MADE?
    • We believe in keeping our carbon foot print as low as is possible! So, all of our clothing is made in London. No air miles and highly polluting air and sea travel for RoyWear. Only are fabrics come from outside England and these are transported by railway.
    • At our London sample studio, we personally know all the members of the team who carefully prepare your Roys. From the hand cutting of the fabric, to the hand sewing of our wonderful pure shell buttons and everything in between!
  • WHERE IS THE FABRIC MADE?
    • Our fabric is made in Italy. In Prato, home of the Italian fabric industry. Our 100% BCI and supply chain traceable cottons are manufactured in a modern, state of the art mill. Designed and built with the environment and employees fat the heart of the operation. Our mill is able to combine artisan quality with industrial scale. Designed and continuously upgraded to minimise as much as possible the environmental impact of its activities.
    • Vertically integrated production means each of the c.35 steps are all managed in-house. Unlike non-vertically integrated mills this ensures consistently higher quality and, better management of and control over the amount of water, energy and chemicals (dyeing) used in production.
    • WHAT HAPPENS IF THRE IS A FAULT OR DEFECT WITH MY ROYS?
      • All Roys are produced at our London sample studio and are carefully inspected using a double check system, once on the production floor and once again when being packaged. So, the likelihood of there being a defect or fault with your Roys is infinitesimally small!
      • However, sometimes things do go wrong and if this happens we will gladly help you and endeavour to get your Roys back to you in perfect condition. We are able to do so because all of our pieces are made in London and come with a defect guarantee. Write to us with your order details and we will provide clear instructions on how we will help address the issue at no cost to you, should the fault be one of our making.
    • HOW DO I LOOK AFTER / WASH MY ROYS
      • For best results, turn your item inside out and wash in warm or cold water. We suggest a maximum of 30 degrees (85F) as some of our fabrics are slightly more sensitive. Make sure you wash with like colours, and use a gentle, bleach-free liquid detergent (non-bio works best).
      • Try not to leave your items in the machine too long - this is how creases build - and when they come out of the washer, shake out any large folds or creases before line drying (never tumble!).
      • Iron: use a low heat, ideally when slightly damp (on low) and our suggestion is to reverse your Roys! Just remember turn to them the right way round before you pop them back on :)
    • I’VE LOST A BUTTON FROM MY SHIRT, DO YOU OFFER A SPARE BUTTON?
      • We sure do. Each shirt comes with a spare pure sea shell button. You will find the button sewn on the washing instruction label. Should you need another just send us an email with your original order details and address and we will happily send you a replacement :)
